Universal Youth Services provides youth ages 14 through 21 residing
in the Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova regions with job search
strategies and assistance with obtain employment.
Specific Services Include:
• Completing a Master Application
• Building a résumés
• Developing interviewing strategies
• Job Leads and employment information
• Career exploration
• Information about educational opportunities
In School Youth Services
In School Youth Services provides an individualized program
for young people residing in Sacramento County, ages 16 through
18 who are attending school and have a barrier to employment.
Activities Include:
• Paid work experience
• Job readiness skills
• Improving academic achievement
• Leadership development opportunities
Out of School Youth Services
Out of School Youth Services focuses on young adults who desire
to explore career and educational options that promote financial
self-sufficiency, employment, and/or completion of an educational
program. Eligibility for this program include youth residing
in Placer or El Dorado Counties, ages 17 through 21, and have
limited income or barriers to employment.
Services Include:
• Life coaching
• Individualized goal planning
• Possible earning of Incentive money
• Possible financial assistance for schooling
• Assistance with completing a Master Application and
résumés
• Develop or improve job search strategies
• Individualized job search assistance
• Learn or improve interviewing strategies
• Assessment of skills, experience and job preferences
• Access to the Career Center resources
• Referrals and linkage with community resources
The Real Game
The Real Game is an experiential activity
focusing on the relationship between education and life goals.
the curriculum and activities are designed to assist youth explore
careers, understand the importance of completing education,
the benefits of life-long learning, and desire to develop strategies
that will assist in the preparation for the future.
Our Youth Specialists are trained to facilitate The
Real Game and have experience presenting to special
education classes, traditional and nontraditional middle and
high school students, as well as independent living programs.
